how to remove / reinstall portion of steering knuckle?
hey im installing my driver side Hooker longtube header on my 95 z28 m6. the headers keep banging on the steering knuckle (the main portion of it, hard to describe, but think which part would be hit during an LT install from the bottom of the car) and im guessing that i am going to either have to remove it completely or disconnect it and let it slide itself out of the way. the lower portion (as in towards the undercarriage of the car) is rubbing on the header and wont let me slide it in. how should i deal with this?
also what should i do while reinstalling it? id like to keep it in as best shape as possible so it doesnt break loose on me
thanks guys

I loosened the bolt where it goes on the steering column and hammered it downward until I got it to separate. Getting it back on was harder. I ended up doing a little grinding until it would align enough to go back on.
Remove the 2 bolts on the coupling, use a hammer and lightly tap forward on the top portion of the coupling until it slides off of the shaft, then pull the bottom portion straight up. Don't re-install the plastic sheath that was on there...it will cook!
