How to remove the IAC?

How do I do it? Is there a simple way or is it as hard as it looks?

it didnt take me long at all. Just remove the throttle body by unscrewing the 4 bolts holding it to the intake manifold, and discconnect all the hoses adn wires. Also remove the plastic plate around the throttle control. Once the throttle body is off just move it so you can get to the IAC. Then you just unscrew the bolts and it comes out. Really easy. Took maybe 10 min. Be sure to get a gasket for the throttle body. Was about $6.33 at my local dealer.

I unbolted all 4 of those bolts and it wouldn't budge. It doesn't look like anyone has used a glue on it but I don't know. I didn't want to pull and pry too much but I guess that's what it will take then. Did you have to replace yours? What problems were you having? Thanks!

So why would you ever want to do that. Doesn't that stand for Idle Air Control? Meanning, it gives your car enough air, therefore helping your car idle properly.

yeah, the IAC gets alot of carbon in it. My car has run better since cleaning it. After those 4 bolts are out, and the throttle cables are loosened up, i just took a flat head screwdriver and tapped in between the throttle body and the intake manifold. The gasket tends to stick. But, it just comes off. You need a new gasket because the old one will rip.
