Arrow How to remove this coolant hose...

The hose that connects to the coolant line that runs through the back of the heads... how do you disconnect it?

I removed both heads at the same time. Once the heads were off, I used a cresant wrench to remove the banjo bolts.

Yes, but I just need to remove the hose that connects to that line.

Remove clamp. Twist and pull hose off? Usually the alternator bracket is in the way to get to the clamp.

I have a 93 and a 94 engine. Neither of these has a clamp. It's sort of an aluminum ring that doesn't look like it will come off unless cut. I might just do that and replace it with a regular clamp...

PS. There's a clamp on my '95 though.

Perhaps the tangs for the clamp are just spun down underneath where you cannot see them? I have not seen one with another type of clamp.

My tangs were underneath the hose.

94s are crimped on. why would you need to remove it there? If you are trying to replace a leaky hose, just cut it off and then clamp the new one on.

Jordon is right.
Just ran to my garage, which is 3 miles away by the way...

Here's the picture of the one on the 93 engine I pulled out and here is the picture of the one on the 94. The reason I need to replace it is probably self explanatory from the second pic. (the hose was cut by whoever pulled the 94 engine)

It's an aluminum clamp, similar to high pressure AC hoses, etc.
Just cut into it carefully part way, with a Dremel, etc, then stick a screwdriver in the slot and twist it. It'll pop and come right off.
Then use a regular clamp.

But yes, this is the second dirtiest lt1 I've ever worked on. And no, I'm not swapping anything else other than the TB from the old engine.

PS. I got your email, will reply to it later today or tomorrow.

Another pre-95 thing. I'm always learning.

That is ridiculous. I just pulled my engine apart at 163,000 miles and I'd eat out of the head ports. I was amazed, here are some pics, tell me what you think. By the way, how do you remove the banjo bolts the correct way. I tried I believe a 15mm socket and it started to slip so I stopped.
