how to quiet down my car???
how to quiet down my car???
I have AS&M headers, high flow cat, and hooker exhaust. I like the tone, buit the interior volume is just too loud. I dont really care how loud the car is outside, but I want lower down the volume inside. I was thinking about puting a glasspack muffler, or just buy a lot od dyna mat, and rubberized undercoating (in teh can) and put all this on the flor and trunk area.
I want make my car more civilized, and just more comfortable over all...So if you have any ideal, please relpay!!

Add another muffler somewhere and then weld in a cutout so when you go to the track or just want it loud that you can open it up. I would be against the dynamat because that is gonna add some good weight....and I'm not sure about the rubberized coating, but it doesnt seem like it would do much for sound.
Double and triple check that you your catback is not hitting something. I have the exact same setup as you except MAC's for the headers. I found two places that I was hitting with the Hooker catback. One was where the I-pipe goes over the rear axle, underneath the I-pipe, and the other was the top of the Y-pipe.
The other place could be where the passenger side exhaust tube exits the muffler and turns towards the rear. Mine would hit on the metal flange hanging down.
Mine was very loud inside the car until I fixed that. Now it's MUCH MUCH better.
Also check to make sure that your Y-pipe is not hitting anything. I had to grind a little metal slightly there too, where the Y-pipe comes across from the drivers side to the passenger side by that frame rail. (not sure if it's the same with the AS&M's)
