How to pull the engine of a 1995 Camaro Z28 Convertible
How to pull the engine of a 1995 Camaro Z28 Convertible
I'm 16 and just got my first camaro with 6 speed manual tranny and it has some mechanical issues. Both exhaust manifolds are leaking (some studs are broken),the water pump is leaking, the omnispark distributor needs to be replaced as well. I'm looking at removing the engine to do the repair, but I don't have access to a lift. Whats the easiest way to pull the engine? I'm open to either top or bottom removal but I have very limited knowledge on both. Any tutorials or instructions on engine removal is greatly appreciated.

In answer to your original question, here is a detailed description on pulling the engine: How I pulled my 4th gen LT1 Motor out the bottom.
I'm not going to argue with the other people that posted about not having to pull the engine to do the repairs you are talking about.
But, after having pulled the engine on my car (through the bottom), I would do it again in a minute before trying to wrestle with the heads with the engine in the car. Just my personal preference.
First time takes some time and patience. I won't go into a lot of detail here, but if you do decide to go that way, shoot me a PM and I'll be glad to give you some tips.
I will say that I did a lot of searches and debated on "out the top vs out the bottom" for well over a year. My friend and I pulled it in my garage and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. We put a furniture dolly under the transmission, an ATV jack under the engine, left the front wheels on, raised the front end of the car with a engine lift and rolled engine and trans straight out.
I had never done any procedure of that magnitude before.

dont pull the motor, i remember when i was your age getting my first lt1, theyre a hand full, if you need any advice message me and ill help anytime,
but you dont need to pull the engine to do all of that, just use google its going to be your bestfriend, and make sure you have a decent amount of time on your hands, these lt1s are money pits and time consuming

Also using the "search" feature on this and other 4th gen sites will provide you with a lot of information. Last but not least, Shoebox's website is loaded with information and the "how to" section is most helpful:
