How to properly check draw on a battery with a multimeter?
how do you use a multimeter to test draw on a battery. correct me if im wrong
multimeter (neg lead) --> Neg battery cable (not connected)
Multimeter (pos lead) --> Pos Battery terminal
Multimeter set on DC amps highest setting.
Should show no more then .01-.05 with car off and nothing on, all doors shut.

To do a "Parasitic Drain" test you need to set your multimeter on the 10A scale. Also make sure you move the red lead to the port that says "10A MAX"
Now disconnect your negative battery cable and insert the DVOM leads between the cable and the battery negative terminal. Now your DVOM is in series with the circuit and any current that flows out of the battery is measured. If everything is okay you may see 0-30 or so mv. Any more than that and there is probably a drain somewhere. I know on many cars it is a good idea to let the car sit for 15 minutes or so after you hook up the DVOM to let all the modules and computers shut down. If you have drain it's time to start pulling fuses to see where the problem is. Good luck!

Why does it aggravate me when people post the same question in two different forums? What's the point?
