How to pick up a tenth or 2 for under $300?

Im broke and i want to get 13.8s by next week! What else can I do? I know stuff like headers and gears should be done, but I just want to run some consistant 13's without 14.0's in my way.

a pair of drag radials will set you back almost 300. your trap speed supports a 13.6 maybe alittle more. All you need is traction off the line.A nice 1.7-1.8 short time and your there.

What mods do you have besides whats listed ?? There are a bunch of things in that price range if you are stock.
I was going to mention DR's. Lose some weight off the car. depending on your suspension maybe a torque arm......

FALSE

am I right?

of course I am

The only reason u would bog off the line is if u don't get the RPMs high enough and u dead hook. My friend was unfamiliar with how to race on drag radials his first time at the track, he would launch at only like 2000 RPM and dump it and bog. Now he takes off at 3500 RPM with slight feathering and then dumping and it grips like crazy.

I say do the throttle body bypass. Its worth a couple expecially in hot climates. Otherwise i say save up for headers........

Have your PCM flashed. The performance tuning should give you some better HP, but you might pick that .2 up just by adjusted shift points (slightly higher), and firmer shifts from bumping up the pressure.

I am assuming you have an automatic...

Also, have you tried preloading the converter a bit? When I was 100% stock, I got about .15 better preloading.

Have you tried removing your accessory belt? Although I understand this really doesn't help too much in ET, but it should boost your MPH.

How about icing the manifold... should be good for a .1

I disagree on icing the intake, thats like hauling a honda to the track on a trailor and running a 17, by the time you get to the line it would be just as hot as before, i say stall converter how much do they run these days?

For a good one? How about $900.00... plus the fluid to put it in, and the time. You are right, best bang for the buck you can probably do, but well over the $300.00 mark.

As for icing, it works... proven that many times...

You must not have the lines that we have in our staging lanes if icing works for you.

If you mean you wait a long time in line, then that is the BEST time to ice the intake.

Or, don't do it...

Find a set of good tires, do throttle body bypass, if your waiting to gain it that bad lose some weight back seat, spare tire jack etc.

you can get a high stall converter for like 200 bucks. get on ebay more But I would say either tires or roller rockers (you can get a rocker/spring kit for I think 289). That would probably do it
