How optimistic can i be about 300 rwhp??

Do you think i have a chance of hitting the all-holy 300rwhp mark with a bolt-on lt1? Remember the motor is brand new and is bored to a 357. I will of course dyno it after the break in period. Let me know what you think.

Since the motor is new, you may do it, but I haven't heard much good about pacesetter shortys. Good luck with it! I think the rockers may get you there tho! How long are you gonna break it in for? A lot of people have differing opinions on that, but if you aren't using a brand new clutch, I'd say 20 minutes are you are ready for some WOT runs.

Well its an automatic so as for the new clutch i dont have one. But i do have a new 2600 stall converter. Thats about it. I heard that i should run for at least 500 miles before i get on it alot. So im not sure what ill end up doing.

I would say no problem, especially since you have the
1.6s. Good Luck!

Nothing holy about 300. Actually kind of low. Maybe it will feel strong but certainly won't overwhelm the tires. Too bad you didn't spring for a hot cam and have someone, anyone, give you a simple head port while the motor was out (an inch down on the valves). That 100 shot will feel great and then you'll know what I mean!

I guess there really isn't anything 'holy' about it, but it DOES make me happy to say I've done it on a stock motor (outside of the roller rockers) and NO headers! And no, the roller rockers weren't what put me over the top either. They did help, but didn't add a significant amount like some may think.

asfar as the pacesetter headers, ive heard their new design is the only one worth getting. when i was buying headers i gave them a serious look, but i decided to go with hooker because of their reputation, also they came jet-hot coated .

Hitting 300rwhp with nothing but bolt-ons with an LT1 is easy. It should be no problem.

Sucks that he will still only have 310 crank hp though

Where do you get your figures from? Even at a conservative 15% driveline loss through an A4 that's still 345 crank hp.
