How much spring sag do I have after 6 years?

I need to replace my shocks. I have a knocking sound over bumps in my front passenger wheel well, and decided it's time to replace the shocks/struts. I plan to get the Bilstein HD on all four corners(9313, and 9314). I have 54,000 miles on my '97 Z28.

Anyways, I always thought of lowering my car, but I'm thinking that my springs may have already sagged a little and I wouldn't notice much of a difference. I was looking at the Eibach pro kit.

Does anyone know how much a Z28 sags after 6 years? I can go out and measure from the pavement up to the metal seem under the door if that would help determine how my stock springs compare to a lowered set.

Also, any comments on the shock selection?

Thanks.
Dan

Well, I just measured my door height. The bottom front of my door is 10.1" off the pavemant. The bottom rear of my door is 10.5" off the pavement. I measured with the door closed, and just help a ruler with one end on the ground, and the other end next to the door so I could see right where the bottom of the door was.

If anyone has time to measure the height of a lowered car, like with Eibach pro springs, or similar I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks,
Dan

I know mine have sagged, but I have a 10 year old car. It has probably dropped a good .5-.75 inches, hell maybe even more. All I know is that it doesnt look a like a 4X4 anymore, and most people think I have lowered it

wiked95TA,

Thanks. Let me know when you get the numbers.

You have your car lowered right?

Go with the DMS springs(do a search here) awesome springs.
Perfect height and rake.

wiked95ta,

Where did you measure? It can't be the same place I did. That would be a 3" difference(more than any lower kit available)

I measured from the pavement to the bottom of the actual door.

I measured it to the bottom of the trim, which is about 3 inches or so high so it'd be about 10.5 inches.

Thanks Wiked95TA,

Sounds like it's the same for us two.

Anyone with a lowered car want to measure? I don't want to lower the car any if I won't see much difference.

Dan
