How much slowdown is needed for a topspeed run?

yaya its unsafe, stfu.

but in a lt1 heads/cam z28 230/236, approximately how long would it take to accellerate to 150+mph? this is with 3.42 gears and the 6spd. and how much top speed would the extra power tack on? i realize its mostly aerodynamics at that speed, but the power has to help some right?!

lastly, at those speeds with either stock lt1 brakes or brakes off an ls1, how long would it take to slow to acceptable speeds around 60-70mph?

thanks

sure but aerodynamics takes over sometime, and then the power must compensate for that, and there comes a point when the gearing/power just wont push anymore, right?

You'll get there hella lot faster! There's a vid somewhere on this site of stock-headed cc305 car doing a 40-135 blast against a stock Z06 and it didn't take long at all. I have it on my computer and it looks to take about 17 seconds, according to the video. You'll be blistering that though. You have to be careful with the stock LT1 driveshaft at those speeds, I read somewhere that it reaches critical conditions when you approach 150mph. Flying apart at those speeds, it will surely rip the bottom of your car (and your butt) to shreads. If not sling you out of control.

The last top end run I did was to 140 and I slowed down by steadily pumping the brakes for 2 seconds at a time and letting off for a second or two until I got back to "normal" speeds (to keep from frying the discs or pads). If you crystalize the pad's surfaces you'll have to replace them.
