Question How much RWHP will I have after cam?

I am getting my car back in a couple of days. It's getting the LT4 hotcam kit put in with the extreme duty LT4 timing set. After looking at all the mods in my sig i was just wondering if somebody could put me in the ballpark of my RWHP #'s when i get my car back, and the hp gain after the dyno tune. I was thinking around 310 or so when i get it back and maybe 320 or 325 after the dyno tune. Sound about right or am i way off?? thanks.

I have heard some guys dynoing at 350rwhp, and then some at 310rwhp. I would say that 330rwhp would be a safe guess. Definitly let us know how much you pull after you get that tuned. I can't wait to get mine tuned. It should go in in a couple of weeks.

Hell yea dude. I'm hoping for some good times too. I hope I can show my buddy up because he has the Hot Cam. He said if I beat him, then he's going to spray it. Haha, we'll have to see. Good luck with your numbers.

Thanks. I REALLY wanted to get your exact cam but i decided to go with the hotcam kit cause i got it REALLY cheap. Should see good gains and from what i hear, even better gains from a good tune. Good luck with your car too man. Later.

Thanks. Is it tuned? I am hoping that i will be in that range. I cant wait to get it back. What do i have to do to break it in??? Just be easy on it for a while or what? Thanks.

Thumbs up

First off. I took my car right to the track. That is how I broke mine in. I don't recomend this though...

I have mail order tuning from www.pcmforless.com Bryan there seems to have the Hot Cam tune nailed.

I remember seeing an article that a guy bolted on a LT4 kit and got 429 hp at the flywheel. Less 15% for a manual and 20% for an automatic. So, if you've got an auto... 429 less 86 hp should net you 343 RWHP... so, depending on intake, exhaust flow, and programming... you are definately in that ballpark.

Lt4 kit includes lt4 heads. He won't see 429 at the crank with bolt-ons and a hotcam. And it says he has an m6 in his sig. I'm doing the same setup as you (headers, intake, cutout, hotcam kit) and I'm shootin for like 320's rwhp tuned. I'd be dissapointed with less than 315 and thrilled with more than 330. Let us know once you get it tuned!

But are you sure they didn't do the LT4 heads with the 429 hp? Cause that would be pretty sick (and unheard of) for a bolt on-hotcam car.

the 429 hp is with the DEFINITELY with the LT4 heads.............thats the LT4 kit. the hotcam kit is minus the heads (and maybe a few other little things). FWIW a local guy untuned hit 305rwhp untuned with the hotcam kit.......

Yep, 429 with the complete LT4 kit... not just the hot cam kit. That LT4 includes intake and heads.
