How much power would I gain n/a and be giving up on the juice? LSA Related

Im thinking about going to a 108 or 110 lsa on my 383 stroker. Its going to mostly be n/a, but sometime in the distant future i plan to add a fair amount of juice 150-200hp shot.

Would a 108lsa be easily tamed into being driven with a dyno tune? I guess the question is, is a 108 necessary over a 110? big difference? cause my neighbor has a camaro on a 106 and that ****er just lopes like a mother.

as far as lsa goes, general rule is tighter lsa will give a peakier powerband higher up? and wider will do the opposite effect?

If you are going to use a big shot of juice regularly, then you will generally want a wider LSA (from my understanding). I would think a 112 would be more suited for that big of a shot

i guess 108 is too radical on fuel injection, or so im told. so its between 110 and 112.

108?! That's Pro-Stock territory, dude!
Stick with the 112lsa.

You mention nothing of the actual cam specifications.

The PS boys are typically in the 102-104 lda range btw.

A 108 lda is not typically seen on multi point fuel injected engines but it is by no means "radical" until duration is increased.

You have a 383? The cam you're interested in, what are it's specs?

intake duration 230-236
exhaust 236-242

somewhere in those ranges, lift around .550-560

110 is get my vote.

like Mad said, when it comes down to it.. OVERLAP is what makes it idle rough. so, just tightening the lobe sep wont make "too big".. unless the duration is there. IMO, a 230ish cam on a 110 would be fine. big, but fine.

Agreed.

I would choose the 110 lda also. You will not be giving up much nitrous performance fwiw.

From: looking for a flow bench so Brook and I can race
i went with 111

but as per what Dr. Krause taught me-
work on the Inake/opening/closing as well as the exhuasts open/closing points. LSA should "work itself out" after you pick the correct points.
