How much power do T-56's handle?

I'm lookin to buy a fairly powerful LT1 soon... bout 430 at the wheels. I don't believe it has a built tranny though, so I'm just curious, how much power do T-56's handle before they need to be built up? The engine is built up and I plan on putting a large nitrous shot on it eventually, and I'm sure for that it'll need a beefed tranny. But for the time being, will the T-56 handle 430hp?

The car has a Moser 12 bolt with 4.11's, and a Spec stage 3 clutch.

Some people have run the stock T56 to well over 500rwhp. The weakest point on it for serious drag racing is the output shaft. With the good drivetrain that car has if you have some serious traction there is a chance of the stock shaft breaking. There are stronger ones available, a lot of people go with the Vipers output shaft which has a larger spline and is hardened steel I believe.

It will handle the 430, but your really pushin it with the nitrous. This tranny seems to hold up to the high 10's low 11's in the quarter. The viper tranny does have a beefier output shaft, too bad they decided to skimp a little with our f-bodies.
