Exclamation HEEELLLLPPPP!!! WTF is wrong with my car??? (Tranny related)

Ok...my car has been popping out of 3rd gear every once in a while for a while now. But today the problem took a turn for the worse What is happening is this. I will in 3rd gear, doesnt matter if I am under power or just coasting, and it will pop out. Then it WILL NOT go back in gear. It always used to go right back in. The problem has spread to 1st gear now too. I will be sitting at a light in 1st, and when I start to accelerate, it will pop out of gear as soon as I give it gas with the clutch coming out. So no I effectively have no 1st or 3rd gear. While I was running errands about an hour ago, it started doing it about every other time I was in a certain gear, but now it's doing it ALL the time. At first I thought it could be the stop bolt on my Pro 5.0, since it was only the top gears, but I adjusted that and now the problem not only remains, but it is worse!!! WTF is wong? Is it the clutch? Or is something totally ****ed in my tranny?

If you're positive you are getting the shifter fully into the gate then it is an internal concern. A common problem is the shifter boot is too tight and is constantly pulling in one direction, since your top gears (towards the I/P) are effected then it may be pulling down. An easy way to verify this is to loosen your shifter boot and see if the concern is still there. If it is then the speed gears may have a damaged back-taper, this helps them hold into a gear or the shift forks are bent, this prevents the shifter from fully putting the synchro sleeve into a gear. It is common in 3rd but not 1st because people speed shift into 3rd and bend the forks. Unless you force a first gear downshift. If this is the case you will need to dissassemble the trans. and check for bent forks or damaged gears, where the synchro sleeve engages. Good luck.
