How much power...
How about on a basically stock everything? You think burning some rubber would do some damage?
Also... when you shred the rear, what actually takes place? A little confused on how that affects your driving and whatnot.

So basically... don't do it that often? Or at all...
I think the has a stock clutch, I have a receipt for the clutch, but everything is a part number. They all start with... GM
The tires are balding, so I guess enjoy them while I can?

I dont think theres anything wrong with leaving some stripes now and then, just try and be gentle when doing it... as in dont dump the clutch all at once. Im not saying slip it til the tires break loose, just dont be violent about it.
edit: and for the record, id say its very possible to break the 10 bolt with a stock 6 speed.

Running a stock clutch, with street tires, with stock HP, in street conditions (i.e. no grippy launch pad), you can have a lot of fun with the F-body and not break your rearend.
IMHO, it's when you start changing one or more of the above that you begin to stress components closer to the breaking point. I've had a lot of fun with my Z28, along with a few evenings at the drags, and the lil' 7.5" is still holding up. As soon as it breaks, though, I think I'll go with a 12-bolt or 9". Of course, I have other plans too...
If you get a good clutch, drop in a blown 383, and some slicks, that puny 10-bolt probably won't last one night at the strip.

Spinning the tires means you aren't putting that much strain on your rear end, so if you are spinning, then you are ok, generally. To this note...
My friend has a 10 bolt, 4.10 rear end, heads/ cam LS1 99 M6, probably done 20 launches on it with ET drags, most in the 1.6-1.7 range, and his is still holding up. Of course, he's probably lucky, but still, it hasn't broken yet!
