How much play should there be in a timing chain on a LT1?

Unhappy How much play should there be in a timing chain on a LT1?

Just wondering how much play there should be in my timing chain and the best way to check it? Thanks

Next to none Brand new ones have almost none but they can stretch over time. best way to check... pull the waterpump opti and the timing chain cover off. and push on it, if it has play, replace it.

Sealed Power timing chain: 222499 about 21 bucks
Cloyes C509 for LT1 about 25 bucks
GM pn 10128485 about 30 bucks
