How much oil should I use...

I was having problems reading the oil on my dipstick but I have a verified 5 quarts in there right now.

I have the stock pan and use the longer AC delco filter. Is the 5 quarts enough?

BTW even with 5 quarts the line is a little less than 1cm above the last hole....

PDM: I use 5.5 with my stock motor and M-301 filter (similar to the AC Delco pf1218).

You should be fine with 5 quarts, but I've also run as high as 5.5 with the long filter with no problems.

After about 2 tanks of gas, check the level of oil again. The oil will be a little darker making it easier to read.

After I do an oil change, I put 5.5qts in and it is always where it should be.
