how much to make a 383 stroker?
i have a stock lt1 right now, considering over the winter making it into a stroker, most of the work myself, besides boring and stuff like that of course, how much would it cost about to do the whole deal? thanks!
stroker
i bought an eagle rotating assem. when i did mine cost around 1500.00 comes with crank, rods, pistons, brgs, rings your going to have machine work and gaskets possibly a cam would not run stock stick would recomend a good timing chain when i had mine done i had my block converted to 4 bolt with splayed caps i paid 4900.00 for mine that also included a valve job on my cnc heads also had mine converted to an internal ballance so many options i would recomend you talk with a decent machine shop and see what they recomend but i would guess anywhere from 3000.00 to 5000.00
As little as $1800 depending on your current setup(what will you use from it) all the way up to $4000+ . Need more info on your goals for the engine and such to say for sure. Mine ran about $2300 total but I allready had the cam ,the fuel injectors, ported heads, a 52mm TB, and 1.6 rr.

Cam and head work are going to be the most important thing to any combo, so don't be cheap in that department. Of course when upgrading the motor, your going to need to do the rearend aswell, as that will be your most limiting factory.
Dude....from the look of your sig., you aint got too much mods on there. I just did mine and its a snowball my man. You stroke it and you need to do everything else to make it work. Ex.: injectors....programming......TB...Headers.....hea djob....tranny build up. By the time I was done I had over 9k in it and still aint done. And...oh yeah....I did everything myself aside from the block work.
it all depends on how u want to build it. seen em cost anywhere from $1,500 to 15,000 +
that is a lot to do over the winter. u will lose driveability and NEED to do upgrades to the tranny and rear to handle all that.
