Question How much for a LT1 to take a LS1

How much would it take for an LT1 to take a stock/slightly modified LS1? I know this has had to come up many times, just curious.

It probably won't happen in terms of MPH, but I'd say that if you took a strong running LT1 with an A4, and put any cold air intake on, some headers, cat-back, 2800 stall torque converter and Nittos...it would win against a stock LS1. Modified is a different ballgame. Those LS1s pull like raped apes...my best friend's has a lid and cat-back, and he is making 300 ft/lbs at 2200 RPM.

Of course...I'll be smacking him around sometime in the future.

I ran against one on the highway once. Started at about a 60-65mph roll and he tried passing me, I got into it and we were door to door, dead even up to about 110-115. At that point neither of us were pulling..not even an inch. He was running borla exhaust, and I dont know what else for mods, if any. My mods are in the sig.

Barely beat a M6 Ws6 with borla exhaust on the highway from 60mph-125mph or so. My rear bumper was 2 feet in front of his front bumper at 120mph. Talk about some mosters. And look at the mods it took me.

ive beaten and lost to a 2000 TA ws6 0-120 by a half a car, all depends on our launches... he has headers, exhuast, 3200 stall convertor and drag radials

and I beat a 2002 SS from a roll 60-110...his car is fairly stock

the LS1s are nice uptop but not all that bad to race against...

Man I'd be ecstatic if I were you taking M6 LS1 all the way to 120 with just bolt ons and no engine work. What did your car run bone stock?

If the Ws6 was bone stock I could see it happening with his mods, just saying its possible.
I stayed with a 2000 C-5 corvette (mods consisted of some type of performance exhaust and CAI) from about 90mph-130mph was about 1.5 cars back when we started, I was still layed into it hanging back about 1 car length and then he started to pull away from me at about 140mph like I was sitting still , but aerodynamics take over at those speeds.
To even hang with a bone stock LS-1, you need to spend atleast 1500$-2000$ in mods JMO.

I used to race my buddy when I still had the 94 Z28. I had K&N FIPK CAI, no cat, Flowmaster 3" exhaust, and a LT4 cam w/ a Trans Go in my 4L60E. He has a 2000 SS Camaro with every SLP option you can get. he has a SLP lid, K&N filter, Ram air mod, Smooth Bellows, stock 4L60E and Nittos
I ran a 13.6x @ 100 and he runs 13.0x @ 106 all day long.
his best is 13.02 @ 106.5
