how much hp can I get with a cam

I have a polo green 94 camaro b4c pkg. engine mods are flowmaster catback,CAI,b&m shiftplus, fan swich and 160stat. apperance mods are 17x9fr18x9.5r c5 wheels, painted calipers, drl mod. Suspension mods are so far polytrans mount and polyswaybarendlinks

what should I do next? I was thinking either headers or a cam. what kind of hp can I expect to get from either of them? any advice would be great

you really should do headers before a cam, if you dont you wont see alot of benefit from the cam. so do them both at the same time

Headers - a)Longtubes - 20/25rwhp.
b)Shorties - 10/15rwhp.
Cam - anywhere from 20 to 40 (there are a lot of factors affecting the hp from a cam). But the most popular ones, like the hotcam and the cc305 give about 20-30rwhp on stock heads. Add another 5-10 if you use them with 1.6 roller rockers. After a cam, you also want to get some tuning done. Keep in mind these are all estimates, you might get more or less from each, or combination of them. Good luck whichever way you choose to go.

what is good brand of headers to go with ? also I was told by a mechanic that if I put headers on my car that I would never get the bolts tight , that I would have leaks . is this true ?

as long as you buy better bolts and use good gaskets (fel pro 1406) i used ARP bolts. ive never had to tighten mine. i did go the cheap route on my collectors and now the pass leaks, but its an easy fix. i would suggest:
shorties for bolton cars
mid lenght or long tubes for heads/cam and stroker motors
i wish i had done long tubes soooo bad....

Midlegths or longtubes would be desireable even without heads and a cam. They are tougher to pass emmisions with although some do come with all the hookups. Cat location can fail you for emmisions if they/it gets moved. Also ground clearance can be an issue, thats why i went with SLP midlengths.

Just get the Hooker Longtubes. I have them with true duals and no head or cam work and it mad a big difference. But I do plan on a hotcam or something later. Some are happy with shorties and others wish they would have gone bigger. Because no matter what you have done to your car it is never enough. I you dont have emissions defiently get longtubes (just watch lowering you car). If you do have emissions like I do you just have to grin and bear it and find a way to pass.
