How much gain from switchin 3.23's out for 3.73's? M6 !Guru's only!

Could somebody give me a quarter mile time/ MPH/ 60' estimate based on my mods and my previous time w/60'.

The mods are:

- 00 vette wheels 275/40/18 instead of the stock 245/50/16 ones I used for the first run. They dramatically improved traction.

- 3.73 gears instead of stock 3.23's.

Keep in mind I have a six speed w/ 2.66 1st so my car is way undergeared to begin with. It does 55 @6400rpm in 1st gear.

To give you a reference, I ran a 13.9@104.88 w 2.3 60'. Also, I raced my buddies 00 from a roll and he only beat me by a car. He ran a best of 12.9@107 w 1.95 60' on the same day I ran my best.

What do you guys think?

since you have a 95 m6, your ratio is 3.42:1 not 3.23, in that case going to 3.73 will be almost worthless. since you have double overdrive, i would recommend going to 4.10s

edit: I'm an idiot, I see you did the t56 conversion, so you originally had an auto.. but the suggestion to go to 4.10s still stands.

You said you did the t-56 conversion. I was wondering if u could tell me where you got the stuff for that and how hard it was to do. My email is sanders_usmarines@yahoo.com. Thanks.

I say gurus only because I want an accurate response. Besides that I think your estimate might be a little off. I bet I could pull a 2.1 60' with the tires at about 106mph because of the use of 4th gear, that comes out to alot better than a 13.7. If I'm correct a 2.1 60' w/106mph comes out to like a 13.4 doesn't it? Looking at all the times in the mag with the LT1 shoot out this would seem correct. What do the gurus think?

The problem was my tires, I would burn them all through 1st gear no matter what so my 60' suffered plus I would burn them passed the 60'. All this is happening while the clock is ticking.

BTW. I recently dynoed 275hp and 310tq. My buddy with his Z dynoed 325hp and ?tq, his is auto.

the only true way to know is take it to the track never know you may lose time depending on conditions there arev to many variables

those wheels are going to make you lose time also because of the diameter so i think i am pretty close with 13.6 -.7

Good point but I think I'd have to be an idiot to run slower than that. A stock LT1 runs high 13's, I've badly beaten alot of 14 second cars from a roll and I tie most LS1's.

Yes, but at the same time they give lots of traction, and the gear will take care of the extra diameter and then some.

Maybe the altitude is higher in germany. My buddy ran a 13.6 with his lightly modded A4 LT1 car. It's all about getting the car out of the hole. He ran a 1.9 60' and only 100mph I ran a 2.3 60'.

You will be slower unless you run slicks, with a 4.1X or close gear first gear is going to be useless. I have it in my car now, and my brother has it in his 97 Z (6-speed), he looses any race unless he goes from a roll. SO unless your gunna run some slicks or cheater tires I wouldn't bother as your 60" time is gunna rise considerably.
