and headers too.

I'm thinking about getting oner or both done in spring and I'm wondering what installs cost since I don't think I can do it myself.

It's a 97 ws6

$20....For a haynes manual

I have had people laugh at me when I aske them what it runs to put headers in a 4th gen F car. I never really got a price cuz peeps refused to do it.

RR's and cam maybe 300? 400?

I think you should do it yourself. You will learn a lot about your engine if you don't know a lot about it. Why can't ya do it? No tools? No experience?

I took an engine apart and put it back together in highschool and some other minor stuff but whenever I do something complicated that is car related I seem to screw it up so I not sure about doing it. I should have the tools though I think.

I'm going to be tackling the RR install myself here in a few months. Do you know anyone that has done it before? Or can someone help ya to save ya some money?

Around here most shops won't do it unless you have emissions legal shorties. Even then you'll have a hard time finding someone to do it. I wouldn't trust anybody around here (shops) to touch my car.

If you really feel uncomfortable doing it yourself send me an email and we'll work something out...

Figure on labor costing around $60/hr. Then figure on 12 hrs for the cam and spring install. And probably around 4-5 for the header install. Then don't forget the cost of the materials... cam, springs, gaskets, oil, coolant, headers, plugs, wires, etc...

$300-350 or so is what it usally runs at for labor on headers, about $500-700 in labor for a cam and spring install.

I had my cam, springs, and RRs installed for $400. That included all gaskets, oil, and all that good stuff. I did my headers myself and would of done the cam but I didn't have time. I'd say atleast $300 for headers. They take less time than a cam install but they are a major PITA.
