How much air pressure to hold valves up?

How much air pressure should I use on the compressor to keep the valves up? Anyone know?

If you're talking about holding valves from dropping during spring replacement, many say that if you bring the piston to TDC that the valve won't drop more than 1/4", blowing up the cyl. isn't really necessary.
