A simple question. Did a search, came up with nothing. How much would it cost to buy/build an LT1 engine. I have a 3.4 v6 and when it's at it's end in the future, I plan to put a new engine in it, a better engine. Perhaps an LT1 engine.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before or it's a stupid question, but I am a beginner.

 

must have not searched to hard theres books of info on this stuff here...probably be better of just lookin for a complete LT1 fbody, they can be had for a few grand nowadays...after you get done switching eveything on the 6 it'll be a hell of alot cheaper

 

if your gonna do a swap to a lt1 then your best bet is probably to find a wrecked lt1 parts car that was rear ended or somthing. thats probably the cheapest way. and as far as building a lt1, u pick a price, depends on what you want but take into account that your going to need much much more then just the engine. your still probably better off saving up and buying a lt1 car

 

that's what i was thinking...just go find an lt1 car. After you get done with the conversion, you wouldv'e saved some money to just get one to begin with.
