how to measure for a belt?

how to measure for a belt?

i have an lt1 and i installed the ASP crank and alternater pulley set along with the a/c delete pulley from GM...

how do i know what belt i need and how to take in account the amount of tension that will be required...

i tried a search but came up empty...

trial and error...get one half inch shorter

Wrap some string around your pulleys.
Measure the string.
Go to the store and buy 3 belts. 1= your measurement
2. -.50 inch
3.+ .50 inch.
Find the one that works and take the other 2 back.
