I put 7 with a standard filter in my 242T.

Comes up to the full mark on the dipstick ...

I put 6 even, tho 7 should be OK. Very good pan IMO.

I have the long filter so I guess I'll try 7.

This pan works with LT headers correct?

As they are the most knowledgeable in regards to their pans, you asked Canton first. So what was their recommendation for their 6 quart pan?

Put in 7, that way when it leaks you will still be ok until you get to a gas station

I thot they (canton) fixed the leak issue they had with the predecessor 24(4) pan.

Re: How many quarts of oil for a Canton oil pan?
I have the 242T, it doesn't leak and I use the 1218 filter. I asked Canton and they told me with the bigger filter it would be 6.5 quarts. It takes 7 to get to the full mark on my dipstick, so that's what I use. I have a big Griffin Radiator with oil cooler in side tank and it may hold more oil than stock.
When I remove oil filter I always get a lot of oil that comes from the adapter or above.
