How many pounds of compression should a stock LT1 have ?

My car has been smoking at full throttle , So in a attempt to find out if the rings are bad of if the valve seals are (the car sit for 4 years) I have done a compression test . The car only has 60 k miles so I don't know .....
Each cyl. was about 180-185 . Does that sound right or low ? I was told low ?

If the compression is within 5lbs on all the cylinders your OK. At full throttle is it black or blue smoke?

It's both . It's hard to tell whats worse the black smoke or the blue . On the dyno the car went way rich by 5200 RPM , 10.9 to one ....

How many pounds should it be at ?

Yes like he said . as long as they are 100psi min. and with in 20 to 25 percent variation you are fine. The numbers do not mean that much. Its the percentage between all 8

Do you have a lot of oil inside your throttle body/intake. If so you can try the Deutsch BF412 breather filter from autozone. On high mileage engines apparently oil can blow back up the tube from the valve cover to the tb at high rpm's. The stock valve cover baffles don't do a very good job of catching the oil. Which the oil getting inside the motor will cause the blue smoke. The breather will prevent this. After dyno day I tried this and it seemed to help mine some(hard to tell on the open road). Just a thought.

Yep , Already did that , it did help some , But it still smokes pretty hard up top ...... Im gonna put the new tune on it somtime next week when I round up a laptop and a cable .... Hope ot picks it back up . The car is a real turd with a stock pcm in it .....

Whats odd is it's smoking worse when it's cold , And when I run it about a quart low of oil it doesn't smoke near as bad ....
