anti theft system
I have no idea what is wrong with my car now. I'm sure it's the cap and rotor but the battery ran down because of the lights flashing on the alarm. I charged the battery and put it back in thinking I could diagnose the car now. The anti theft system had been reset or something when the battery was dead and now is acting as if it is being stolen or something. When I try to crank it nothing happens, no sound from the starter or anything, all the power through the ignition fuses goes away as I try to start. Is there anyway to reset this thing or bypass it? I'm totally confused by it, I was expecting to just search for spark and determine the cause. Instead I have a car that thinks I'm stealing it or something. It is a 96 firebird formula with anti-theft and a gm alarm unit, not factory but dealer add on.
Thanks,
Aron

Check the shock sensor. There is a sensitivity adjustment on it. It is located right above the spare tire. You can also just unplug it if its the cause of your problems. Thats what I did long ago.
