Question How many MAFs have you blown up???

Tonight marks no. 2 for me....both due to nitrous backfires....funny thing is I even have a window switch....just not wired bcuz no one in my area can find the LT1 Tach feed for it....well just felt like ranting, and see if I'm the only dumbass who has managed to fry more than one MAF.

the tach wire is a white wire coming off the red pcm connector i believe, or you can pick it up at the gauge cluster, or get one at the coil.

I have blown two up but it was totally my fault. I let the fuel in the tank get to low and went lean like a dummy. I have since then learned my lesson to keep it right about a 1/4 or higher so I dont starve the system.

I was never happy with my ported MAF so instead of buying a new one I just tossed it altogether. If you have the means and love tuning VE tables all day long, than this might be an option.

100 shot, but like i said b4, the window switch is not wired....

i think i went lean due to a fuel pump going out....gonna replace that, along with the MAF....also new plugs, new intake elbow (ripped), fuel pressure safety switch, and im gonna throw a converter in her, so i can spray off the line safely.

If you go with a new elbow I would suggest either Trick Flow or the Vortech unit because if it happens again you will not have to buy another one with these hard piped brands. When my second one went it just blew it off with no damage at all.

culprit was a fuel pump going bad, caused me to run a little lean...BOOM.....so im replacing that, and also founda MAF Sensor for real cheap...she'll be back up and running in no time

im just gonna stick with the elbow i have right now (1LE), its actually not ripped like i had thought.

I have fried one but that was do to spraying it when my car was to lean. Couldve been a lot worse.
