My car ran 13.21 @ 104 with just a CAI and 3.73's.

 

With my stock stall I ran my time in the sig.......and I run very very consistent too, worst run is a 13.08. I have high hopes that I can run a 12 with my mods too on a decent cool low humidity day. I do have a little weight reduction and a mail order tune, (but I also have a 100% stock suspension) so really I don't think their times are all that great. With a stall I would probably hit 12.7 or better easily (stall is my next mod, may not come till next spring though)

 

My car ran 13.7 at 102 with just a bigger filter and no muffler with 2.0 60's.Now runs 13.5's at 104 but havnt got the bugs worked out.

 

Yeah. I get consistant 1.81 - 1.84 sixty foots on my car ( prior to suspension mods, have not ran the car with the upgraded suspension) I could have done better and dipped in the 1.7's but I don't feel like busting a 10 bolt just for a 12 second pass.

My car once made a 12.99 @ 106.99 pass with a 1.81 sixty foot. But I lost that timeslip and best to that has been a 13.00 @ 107.xx

The car runs good for what is done. It's all in the driver in a six speed car.

 

i ran the time in my sig with long tubes, loudmouth, SPEC2, 12bolt 4.10's, SLP cai...with a bad opti causing misfires at about 5k and weather of ~85% humidity (excuses excuses) bone stock rear suspension (rubber bushings and all) stock tune too

i know that if it had been running well and in good air...it could have gone .2-.4 better!!

i granny shift too (foot off the gas for all shifts)

 

Am I the only one who doesnt find their times impressive


Full bolt on LT1 (minus the 1.6's), with a HIGH stall converter and descent gearing only running a 13.1 with a ****ty trap?....uh yeah...I would be disapointed as hell if I wasnt nailing 12's all day with a * somewhat good* 60ft


Im sure it would run faster with a tune though also

 

13.4@106 in my 93 with street tires, catback, rockers and 3.73s.

 

i wasnt impressed with mine since there was alot left on the table...but shortly after, i tore it down and turned it into what it is now

i often wish i would have maxed out the boltons 1st!

 

You've got to look at the car. IIRC you're talking about "The Grape of Wrath" project. They used Hooker Shorties, and the stall was only like a 2800, and they were having convertor lock up problems (car falling on it's face in third).

Had they had the convertor issues sorted out, and some better headers (MAC's, ASM, SLP, all of which are emissions legal) I'm sure they would have been moving faster and trapping 2-4 MPH higher.

 

I didnt look into the article too much...Just read "high stall" which obviously a 2800 isnt....and Shorty headers obvious dont net the best gains....If only an LT1 could be represented correctly

 

Full exhaust, stall, cai and suspen. kit is no where "near stock" as ya like to put it ...From my experience the guy in the article is running exactly what he should be w/ those mods..Plus he's on ET's,nothing impressive about that by any means

 

My ws.6 ran 12.9's @ 108mph with full exhaust, gears, and ET streets. Definitely doable.
