I am going through engine rebuild (Hypereutectic Speed Pro Pistons/rings/bearings) + Lt4 Hot Cam kit + ported heads (stage 1-very simple porting)+ ported intake (also very simple job) + MAC Shorty headers + custom programming from pcmforless + cut out.
I hope this will be very noticeable gain in performance . What Hp gain should I expect fro this setup. I was thinking 330-350RWHP. What you think?

Dude with my mods now, I can smoke a stock LS1 SS. My buddy has a 2000 SS and I pull him by at least a car length.

You should be around 350 rwhp or more!

But yes that setup should easily smoke an LS-1

 

I pull my buddies car on motor without the nitrous. If I spray him I pull him by 5 or 6 cars in no time.

 

The 97 SS I used to have kept up with my buddies Collector Edition T/A, with ram air . I had basic bolt ons, MAF, pulley, air foil, K&N and such. I'm not afraid of LS-1's, in fact I can't wait to be able to afford one. BTW, I think youll get about 325 hp out of that deal. Good luck. Anyway why fight with the LS-1 cars, they are on our side. Go get them no good lousy, fart tip wearin, winged warrior wanna be musclecars, and put a severe beating to em. Imports suck!!

 

Ckeck out my mods. I have the programming, XE230/236 (bigger cam than yours), homeported heads (equivalent to stage 1), bigger headers. I am at 351rwhp before the TB and MAF (probably wont see too much with those anyway). I would say you'll see no more than 320-325rwhp with those heads. You'll need a godd set of stage 2 heads to get 350rwhp-360rwhp.
