Wouldn't cryoing cause the gears to be too brittle and shatter?

Well i guess i do what everybody says not to all the time and it kind of a trial area i dont run the 1/4 so thats not gonna be a problem.

I thought I'd heard that before. Well, the cryo treatment has been done. Once he's got the motor finished I guess we'll see how they do. At least HE'S the guinea pig and not me...or you either...which is always good, lol.

also to note:

* Note: We temper afterwards because the cryogenic treatment has a detrimental affect on the fracture toughness (impact properties). Heating the item brings the fracture toughness back to its original state.
