Remove the single thru-bolt in the motor mount on the passenger side. Loosen the drivers side one just a tick then jack the motor from the bottom with a piece of wood against the oilpan.

what kind of headers are you trying to put in? You can search for a writeup as many have written guides on how to install hookers or other LT headers. MACs can go in from the top as can most shorties.

Re: how to make more space (headers) passenger?

To get my passenger side flp in I had to put the header flat on the ground with the flange facing up. The collector facing the back of the car so the collector is somewhat under the driver side. Then twist the header so the the forward most part of the flange goes up in space and then just twist it while sliding it up in there. Hard to explain but you dont need to take off the starter or lift the motor up. Just make sure you have the car as high up as possible, i remember it had to be pretty high up on the jackstands.

Try removing the starter, the dipstick tube, and then see what else is in the way. Just play with putting it in from different angles.
