how to make a hooker louder?
hey guys i was wanting a louder exhaust on my car with out just buying a whole new cat-back...i still have the cat inplace and was wondering if i installed an ORP what it would do, also i heard that it would make it pop alot more with an orp...thanks for any help in advance!

If you want it louder all the time just gut your cat. I had mine gutted with my hooker catback and it was loud as sh*t all the time. I recently put a MAC y pipe, and MAC ORP on and it is more mellow at idle, but louder at WOT now. Personally I like the ORP setup, because it used to get annoying with it loud all the time with the gutted cat, but try the gutted cat 1st since its free.

gutting the cat or running an o/r pipe will change the sound, but not drastically. i raced a 96 WS6 T/A with a hooker catback and i couldnt even hear his car, and i only have the aerochamber muffler, but my cutout is mounted in place of the cat, so its like ive got an o/r pipe there when its closed. im anxious to see what it'll sound like with longtubes.
i love the popping noise too, sometimes i put it in 1st gear at a corner then take off down the street and let the car idle itself down...that sound is arousing!...it this bad on the trans tho

How to make a hooker louder??? Hmmmm.........well you could put a bigger rod in 'er 
..........lol But anyway yes yes get long tubes and a nice y-pipe and it will be crazy loud. Mine are sitting in a box waiting for the tranny to come out for the new SPEC stage 3 I cant wait!!! Friends of mine have them and Im always 
to there cars when the start them.

I have hooker cat back and i gutted the cat it was a decent noise gain , i wouldnt say amazing, but it was free and you get that drag strip smell when you start her up in the morning get some LTs and you should be verrrrrrrrrrrrry impressed

thanks everyone for your quick replys...yes i would love to get some long tubes, ive wanted some for a while now, but cant afford them at the moment! so you guys think that gutting the cat or an orp would be my best first step? well i have been doing a little research on the loudmouth, and have saw a lot of mixed opinions on it, some say they love it and some say it sounds like crap? i would like to hear one, so if anyone can link a sound clip to me or point me in the right direction of where i can hear one on a mostly stock lt1, it would be great! ( in advance, ive tried searching for sound clips, and came up with alittle over a page of threads and couldnt find one that was mostly stock that worked )
