How to make a flat torque curve?
How to make a flat torque curve?
ok im starting to consider my options for cams and rollers and springs and all the good stuff u mind as well do while ur in the engine.
ive seem several peoples dyno charts on here and it was almost a straight line, what does someone have to do to get it like that?
considering emissions and daily driver

You're also going to need a good set of worked heads (as well as the other usual things like headers, CAI, etc...) to see the full benefit of the cam.

The cam itself w/1.6rr will probably give you ~20-25hp. Yes, you can just put the cam in now and it would work, but if I were you, I would save up my money and do everything at once. The cam itself might disappoint you as far as HP goes, but you do cam + heads + headers at once, and you will have the biggest grin on your face first time you floor the car after all that.
Good luck.

well what are a good set of headers?
advantages? i know some are cheap some sound good some are easy access to plugs...
im looking for probably shorties or mids cause i need smog legal (unless there is a long smog legal ones)
with tax money coming soon i'll have a big chunk of money to work with.

Yeah, just wait for the money to come. Then, a set of Lloyd Elliott heads (~$1000), a set of 94-95 style SLP shorties or MAC shorties (~$500), and the XE 224/230 cam package (~$750) should get you an emissions-legal yet powerful car (This doesn't include installation costs by the way). A guy dynoed 350rwhp/350rwtq with the same setup. Good luck.

The 224/230 is on the ragged edge of being able to pass smog. Generally the Comp 305 is the most radical cam that will pass smog, and it will require programming.
For a flat torque curve, you don't want a big increase in cam duration anyway. Something like the LPE 211/219 or GM 845. Short duration, more lift.
