Recently i replaced my fuel filter and added Fuel injector cleaner to my car. Im not running lean, but instead i am running rather rich at my elevation (5500 feet). And i havent checked my timing but im sure it is fine.

Could it be a computer malfunction? Also i have been getting a problem with my transmission when i am cruising at about 50 mph it shifts in and out of overdrive when i let off of the gas

Thanks
Well, assuming everything I mentioned above is in check, maybe the pcm is messed up or the module that allows you to switch from performance to comfort mode is fried. I'd say then, the module should be replaced or send your pcm off to pcmforless.com for a tune (with your mods) that would most likely fix this and get more oomph for $90

I know exactly what he is talking about.

Are you sure it is for 3 to five seconds?.....and your not just thinking it is (cause the motors screaming)

But yea something is wrong, should only hold a high rpm at full throttle when at a high speed. Talking 50+mph. If it's doing it in a lower speed like when it shifts from first to second......I'd say the tranny is going to say bye bye soon. (Clutch band is slipping)

How many miles on it? bet over 120,000 right?

Ok i took the car out today and actually tested it out while racing a 3000gt off the line. In performance mode while giving it full throttle it only holds it at redline for about 1-2 seconds before shifting...

Your right...The engine is screaming so it seems a lot longer. But anyway Im thinking nothing is actually wrong with it now.

Its just my foot work i guess

And my car has 85000 miles.

Thanks Everyone

And yeah i think i am going to get my computer reprogrammed anyway later on.

2-4 band,"I'm wearing out, can't grab the drum as fast. "
Your pcm in normal mode,"So f**king what, you only get X psi line pressure, so the engine is gonna keep on spinning till you grab, PUNK."
Your Engine,"Okay, I'll keep revving."
your pcm in performance mode,"Even with more line pressure, you still want to take your time, Mr. 2-4?! "

Moral of skit. 2-4 band getting old and doesn't apply as fast. the pcm may kind of mask the problem because it request more line pressure with more throttle, but it will only raise it so much and no more. I think you may be suprised if you get a good scan tool(like a Tech II) and look at the transmission adapt tables for your 1-2 shift. I would also look at the requested line pressure(the "X" in the story). reprogramming the pcm will increase this and may solve the symptom. you might have to actually go in the tranny and use a torx to increase line pressure, also. if you really want to fix it, you're going to have to replace that band(aka tranny rebuild). i would try more line pressure first, though. that has done the trick for me, and given more mileage before a tranny rebuild.

is it bouncing off the rev limiter?

Umm it sounds like your tranny is slipping. If you baby it and it seems to drive ok but when you nail it, it goes to 5500 or so then you know that the power is just making your transmission slip.
