How long should the cam dowel pin be?

I am installing my HOT Cam and swapping my opti to a 95+ setup. I'm assuming that the cam dowel should be the correct length out of the box. if not, what's the exact measurements?

Should extend .620" from the end of the cam for the vented opti.

Jpolz, do you guys have an OBD1 cable handy? I need to have my car scanned but can't find anyone local. Thanks

I don't have a scanner/cable, but Ryan says that Waswa has LT1 edit, so he should have a cable.

I'm assuming your talking about a cable to connect to a laptop?

Thanks man. I think Waz has OBD2 though. Jason is the same way.

How's the cam install going so far? Got everything under control?

Nothing too bad so far...I got the new cam in yesterday, new cam sprocket in place, along with a new chain. Spent about 2 hours scraping and cleaning gaskets surfaces. Just doing some general engine cleaning now and today I'm proabably gonna get started in the valve springs, valve seals and the roller rockers.

Honestly the hardest parts was just figure out how to take everything apart!
