im interested in buying a head an cam package but i heard the valve springs and stuff would not last a long time.

 

I'm approaching 100k miles on my LT4 HOT cam with C&C head package and all the other goodies. Car is no slouch either... runs 12.4 at 115 mph in the 1/4 full weight. So, while not overly fast, not bad for a hot cam car. Also, it has been my daily driver for years now and still runs very good. I forget exactly but I think I have 110,000 miles on the car. Heads and cam were installed around 15k miles.

 

Springs are going to be the wear item there and how fast they wear will be determined by the cam/rocker combo and exactly what springs they are. The HOT cam with 1.6s is going to be fairly easy on springs compared to some of the newer grinds with much steeper lobes and more lift.

just dont cheap out and buy quality stuff and you wont have a problem for many years to come.
