sorry if this is kind of a dumb q but if its not abused (2 much) how long can a m6 last? miles? would it not be smart to buy a really nice z with high miles with a m6 and just drop in a "fresher" lt1 if needed??? if the 6's break down with the motor, what is involved in rebuilding a m6? how much $$$???or would it be better to just look for a engine/trans 2 getha? thanks.....later

 

The T56 is a very durable tranny, just keep it lubed properly. At the very worst things like synchros and shift forks can be replaced... if done by yourself it's not expensive.

It takes LOTS of power and traction to break it! If you're not running into the mid to low tens you're probably pretty safe
