How to launch my car

Hey guys, I'm new on this board and i just bought my car and i can't get it to hook up real well. I have a race set up so i kinda need to figure it out, ( it's just a stock 5.0 so it shouldn't be to hard ). By the way i have a stock 95 A4 T/A. any tips would help.

thanks,
Dustin

Stall up and roll into it... This always neted me 1.9xx 60's at the track, on my stock converter and street tires...

Thumbs up

This is what i did-
of coarse it will vary with conditions (cold/hot road) tires ect-

I would powerbrake spin the tires for a full 2 second count- AND DONT MOVE when your spinning.
if you want to, you can creep up a few feet, just throw it in reverse and roll right back over the rubber you just laid

warms them up, gets crud off road/tires ect.

Then i'd powerbrake til the tires were about to break lose, then lower it 200rpms or so.

Its hard to explain this part- but i'll try

Id "floor it" to 50% WOT or so-
like just get it down to 50% throttle as fast as i could off the line

Then quickly and gradually get it to WOT-
once you hit like 15mph or so you should be able to go wot

then again it depends on tires/engine/gears

i cant go wot till the middle of 2nd on the street with street tires and i got 255/50's as opposed to stock 245/50- and i only have a 2400 stall
cant wait to get that vigi

so theres the gist of it, just find your own zone

Lol... I go up do a little burn out, just to kinda "brush" the tires clean... I just stall up then romp on the gas letting off the brake at the same time spinning the tires up to the staging light... Then just do as I stated in my first post.
