How I spent my vacation

It was time for the LE1 motor to get pulled and swap in a stockish motor. I feel like I'm getting old or something cause I was tired of driving it and all the noise and issues with breaking stuff at the power level I was at. In any case I took the week off to so it and thought I would share. Once it's broken in I'll get some numbers and change the sig.

In the lower right hand corner of the trunion you can see where the cover barely touched so I had to take it back off and beat the cover some more. Second time it fit perfect and no more tapping.

Here you can see where I beat the crap out of it to clear both the rockers and alternator. I had to grind off part of the alternator as well around the shaft so I could see day light all the way around. I could have used a saft pad and ground it some and cleaned it up, but no one will ever see it and it's functional so I didn't worry about it.

P.S. On a side note during this past week my pistons FINALLY arrived for my 555 BBC so in the next couple of weeks I should be finishing up that project finally. I say finally because it has taken A YEAR to get a set of pistons!!

I'm glad to see someone else spends vacation time doing this stuff. Most of the
people at work think I'm a nut for taking 2 weeks off to do a head swap. Thanks
for sharing the pics.
