How high will this cam make power to?

I am finished my cam install tomorrow I can't friggin wait!!!!!! It's a 227/239 blower grind. Lift is .560/.577 with 1.6 rr's and I had it ground on 115 lsa. It should make some really nice power especially with the blower and all the other stuff I'm throwing on the valvetrain. I even put on a CSI wp and cloyes double roller.

I know I won't be doing any really high revving right off the bat but without getting it dynoed, anybody have an estimate of where the power will start to fall off?

I would think with that high of a lsa it would probably start to fall off around 6100rpm. Unless i'm getting the lsa's backwards.

Isn't the advertised duration 227/239 @ fifty?? I thought it would rev to maybe 6300 ish. How does LSA have an effect on the rev range??

Usually, the lower the LSA, the higher the power band moves up. I would say you will max out at about 6000rpm.

reason you need advertised duration (.006) & at .050 is to know the lobe profile, if its close to an XE grind it'll fall off at 6200rpm even if its a 236/242 on a 112. Many cams are like XE's, one example is the GTP 6 cam, thats basicly an XE grind.

To be honest Bunker that tells you very little about the rest of the profile It could be a slow start fast finish ramp with a wide top lobe or a fast start slow finish ramp with a small top lobe.

ONLY way to know for sure is to profile the ramp.

Check out the machine the use to profile cams a Pat Austins Pro Max some time
