how hard is to install headers on a 1996 z28?
That's pretty hard to quantify. I'd say yes, it's "reasonably hard". Lots of work in tight spaces trying to get bolts tightened down, mostly. Then you're installing plugs and wires, which is never easy on our cars.

That's a REALLY open-ended question.
I'm going to assume you're talking about longtubes. Those are NOT a good "first mod" to install as far as difficulty. You'll have to either put your car on a lift (I couldn't find any garages that would let me due to insurance) or jack your car to high hell (ask xxSaint69xx about this, he has some insane pics on his site from his install).
Putting in my Hooker LT's was a piece of cake because my heads were off my car, and both of them literally dropped right into place from the top, no jacking required. But with the heads in place you're pretty much screwed into putting them in from the bottom.

with a 95 lt1 you should be right at 290-300 hp at the wheels if you do the cold air, good cat back (w/ cutout), longtube headers. you may have to do a ecm reprogram to really take advantage of the setup. seems i've read guys picking up 15hp over stock programming buy going to bryan at pcmforless. the reprogram is only $100 for obd1 (94-95) and has shown time and again to be worth the money.
