How hard to change motor and trans mounts?

I was wondering if anyone on here has changed motor mounts and trans mount on a 1997 Z28 with an Automatic transmission. Is it seriously hard or pretty easy? How long am I looking at? Any tips?

Thanks Guys.

trans mount is "monkey work"... very easy... assuming you're putting in polyurethane replacement... DON'T put the metal plate some of them come w/ in there too... causes MAD vibrations to come into the cockpit...

Never did motor mounts, but appear from what I've read that they are tougher... got to take them apart and reuse clam shells etc... PITA, but "do able"..

Trans mount is easy.
- Raise car, support on jack stands.
- Support Transmission
- Remove crossmember
- Replace mount
- Reinstall crossmember.
- Lower

Motor mounts are a little more involved.
They took be an hour or two in the driveway with hand-tools.

As everyone has said the tranny mount is cake and should take 10mins at most. However, the motormounts are pretty difficult esp. if you have headers as getting to the bolts can be painful. Support the motor by a block of wood on the oil pan or bottle jack on the crank hub (with block of wood) - upto you. Good luck.

BTW - If you are replacing the stock mounts with the polys (good idea) then make sure you know that you are going to have to drill out the rivets on the clamshells to get the old rubber inserts out and put the new polys in. Just make sure you have access to a drill press or good clamp/vice and drill.
