How hard is it to change the cam dowel pin?
If it can be done without having to take it to a machine shop that is...
I'm installing a comp cam in my '94 engine and I will have to either cut or replace the pin on it to make it work with the 94 timing setup. I might convert to a 95 opti/timing cover and double roller later on, so I'd like to know if I can change it fairly easy or should I wait until I have all parts for the opti conversion?

Well, it's not grinding/cutting that I'm worried about. It's if I will be able to convert to a vented opti afterwards. Guess not. Oh well, the new stock timing chain/sprockets will have to do I guess.
I just measured it and cut it with a dremel and cutoff wheel. Being how it goes into the cam gear the length is not super critical. The correct length has the pin protruding about 1/16" on the cam gear. Thier is still enough material there to later have the pin pulled and replaced if you later deciede to convert to a vented setup.
