How happy are you with your NGK Plugs?

I'm planning to purchase NGK's for my next tuneup (With Accel 9000 Spirals) Anyone who has used NGK TR55's, have you been happy with them? I had Delco Plats put in 2 yrs ago, and the car didn't run as great as I wanted it to. What kind of life are you squeezing out of the NGK's too while I'm at it

Thanks!

I haven't had any problems with my NGK's. The regular AC Delco platinums are horrible. It's fairly common to have the platinum "pucks" come off the electrode, embedding themselves into valveseats and opening up the gap.

I often change my plugs whenever I have the old ones out... so almost as much as I change my underwear If you aren't running platinum I'd probably change them at most 30k miles. If you're running nitrous, boost, etc. then I would be inspecting and replacing at shorter intervals then that. If you want to install the plugs and forget about them then platinum is the way to go... although I still wouldn't let them go 100k miles.

I like the TR55's, although I only get about 8000 miles out of them. I need a new set right now.
Delco copper plugs are good too I hear.
I no longer use any platinum plug, as I prefer to pull the plugs yearly and inspect the cylinder by cylinder combustion colour.

Every 8000 Miles? Do they start missing or something around 8000 or do you just change them? LT1 spark plugs are a pain to begin with. But I'm telling you, my delco's are brutal (second pair)

The electrodes round over, which is a sign they need replacing. I can have the y-pipe out of my car in about ten minutes, so a plug change isn't a big deal. No symptoms of worn plugs, just a yearly thing I do. These ignition systems can fire just about anything.

I recently installed a set of NGK TR5s. The car runs fine. I don't know how long they will last, but I was tired of the oem Delcos loosing pucks and leaving .075" gaps.

I'd like the ngk's better if those metal plug wire end terminals didnt unscrew. If you like using the ac delcos but not platinums, you can use I use them the R44LTS's.
