How to get stock exaust off?

How to get stock exaust off?

How are you supposed to get a stock muffler off? I cant seem to figure out what to do with that clamp thing. Anyone ever done there own b4? thanx

You mean the band clamp? I just loosened it up slid mine back and squirted PB Blaster at the joint and let it soak. I then brabbed ahold of the muffler and just twisted and pulled untill it came off. Now if you are wanting to replace the I-pipe I used my 110 wire welder on high and slow, and burned thru it just before it went over the axel came off easyily with minimal jacking

I had the same problem. I loosened the clamp all the way. But it still would not come off. I ended up just using a saw and cutting it off. I also had to cut it off right at the bend part on the i-pipe.

Sawzall with metal blade and a couple minutes.
I will never hacksaw my way through an exhaust pipe again.

you have to take the bolts of of the muffler hangers, since the hangers are inserted into the rubber holder going towards the rear of the car, it isnt gonna do any good pulling it off in that direction also
