How to get overflow hose out off coolant reservoir?

How do I go about getting the coolant overflow hose out of the battery trey/coolant reservoir? I got a new one today because the front part off the battery trey was broke, and the new one doesnt come with it. I havent really messed with it yet, but I figure I would ask before I break that too and end up back at the dealer. Thanks

When I took mine off to replace the resovoir 2 years ago I pried the grommet up and removed the hardline from it. Then put it back on the new overflow and RTV'd it back up.

What did you use to pry it up with? Theres not a lot of room to work with, and that grommet it fairly stiff.

If my memory is correct...I removed the hardline from the overflow first (just use the antifreeze to lube it). Once I had it out I pried the grommet out with a screwdriver. I don't recall it taking much time to swap them out.

Yeah I did the same. Screwdriver works fine to pry the grommet off the old overflow. Of course I took the whole thing out. It takes about a minute to pull the overflow out of the bay.

Does anyone know where to purchase the metal line from? Or what to call it?

The guy at autozone was an ***-clown...I told him I was looking for the metal return line to the coolant reservoir -- the one right below the battery... he didnt know what it was, so he didnt want to waste his time.

Probably be better off going to the dealer. They had the resovoir for me when mine was cracked so they may have the hard line, worst case, they have to order it.

I just did this about a month ago.

Bought a new resevoir and Metal hose from GM.

Pulled the old hose & grommet out by prying it up by brute force right at the bend.
Lubed grommet up up very lightly with a bit of grease, slid it on the resevoir, then inserted the metal tube.. worked pretty well for me, just dont push or pull anything hard enough to bend/break it.

Slosh some water around the old resevoir (just for kicks) to see how dirty it gets on the bottom... mine came out reallly thick like sludge.
