How fast can you safely spin stock internals?

I have a bone stock bottom end, stock valvetrain. How high can I safely spin my LT1? I wouldn't be doing it all the time, but just in case I need to pull a little higher at the top of 4th in the 1/4 mile. Plus I'd like to know my safety margin if I am shifting at 6000 RPM or so.

I spun my stock bottom end to 7 grand by accident before and nothing broke , I would say 6000 is as far as you would want to go safely. Above that your sort of taking a gamble.

Find out exactly when your HP is made and I bet you never have to go above 5500-6000 rpm's Unless you have done a lot of head work on a stock bottom end.. If you go higher your endangering the car without gaining a thing.

I've gone 6,900 a few times. With a stock valvetrain, I wouldn't push over 6,200 to be safe.

6,800 shift points here. Would not reccomend it on a daily driver though, LOL.

6200 should be safe, anything more than that on occassion probably isn't going to do any damage...but I wouldn't recommend it...
