how far past zero lash?

how far past zero lash?

the car has 1.6 sa pro mag rockers and erson lifters and cam. how far past zero lash do i go when adjusting the rockers? what excaclty efects how much you are supposed to go? i know for stock you should go 3/4 turn past, but ive heard of people only going 1/8 past with aftermarket valve train. why is this

1/8 or so is for Comp R lifters. You will be fine with ¼ to ½ turn with other lifters.

so what exactly is it that makes it different from stock? if you use the top dead center top dead six method with an after market cam would it still be the same as if you did it with a stock cam?

The 1 and 6 TDC adjustment procedure is the same no matter what cam (as long as not super wild). There is a wide range for preload (except with the Comp Rs). The stock recommendation is for quiet operation and less time between lash adjustments. A little looser can give a little more power.
